The passengers and crew of the missing Malaysian plane most probably died due to suffocation, The Independent reported.

A new report released by the officials investigating its disappearance concluded that the cabin ran out of oxygen.

“Given these observations, the final stages of the unresponsive crew/hypoxia event type appeared to best fit the available evidence for the final period of MH370’s flight when it was heading in a generally southerly direction,” the report said.

The Beijing-bound Boeing 777-200 – carrying 239 people, including five Indians, mysteriously vanished on March 8 en route to Beijing from Kuala Lumpur. The disappearance of the plane is one of the greatest mysteries in aviation history.
