Kejriwal says BJP trying to buy support of Congress MLAs for Rs.20 crore …

Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday accused the BJP of trying to buy the support of Congress MLAs for Rs.20 crore each to form a government in Delhi. The BJP dismissed the allegations.

“After failing to buy any AAP MLA, BJP now trying to buy 6 cong MLAs. Price – Rs.20 crores each, 2 ministers and 4 chairmen,” Kejriwal said in tweet on Wednesday.

“He (Kejriwal) is frustrated and should get a mental check-up,” BJP MP Ramesh Bidhuri said.

Kejriwal, who resigned as Delhi chief minister after 49 days power in February, however is sending out recorded audio messages, claiming that the BJP is indulging in horse-trading.

The AAP had formed the government in Delhi with Congress’ support in December 2013.

This is how Kejriwal’s message reads, translated from Hindi:

This is Arvind Kejriwal speaking.

I am sorry to disturb you! You are hearing my recorded voice.

The BJP is resorting to dishonest and highly unethical methods of trying to form the government by offering Rs.20 crore each to many MLAs.

Is this democracy?

It is completely wrong. If the BJP forms the government using such illegitimate methods and by spending hundreds of crores, then such a dishonest government will only increase your electricity bills, indulge in corruption and price rise.

Would a government formed through dishonest means like horsetrading be able to provide safety for women?

Why is Mr Narendra Modi silent?

It is too much. The people of Delhi can no longer remain silent.

Jai Hind.”

AAP leader Ashutosh claimed attempts were also made to “buy AAP MLAs for three months.”

“The BJP is known for horse-trading of MLAs – be it in Karnataka or in the Kalyan Singh government in UP or in the Keshubhai Patel government in Gujarat,” he said.

Ashutosh said the Delhi Lieutenant-Governor should dissolve the Delhi Assembly immediately.

The Delhi Assembly is in suspended animation currently.

But BJP MP Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said that by levelling allegations of horse-trading, Kejriwal was “doubting the integrity of his own MLAs.”
