Suriya’s looks, his first time on-screen pairing opposite Samantha, Yuvan Shankar Raja’s music and Lingusamy’s treatment of the script are pointed out as the strong points for Anjaan which is likely to release in a few weeks’ time. Speakers at the event praised Suriya sky-high and even hinted indirectly that Suriya’s star-power has swelled to a great extend and even overtaken the likes of Ajith and Vijay.
Fans clapped aloud and whistled while such comparisons were made. When his turn to speak came, though, Suriya had an explanation to offer about the comparisons. “I don’t like being compared with other heroes. Both Ajith and Vijay are elder to me in age and experience. They have toiled hard for more than 20 years to reach their present positions which can’t be achieved overnight.
“I don’t have any such aim; I only choose my roles with an objective of learnig something new with every film of mine. This is the reason for the yawning gap in between the release of my films. I have no expectations and I appeal to my fans and the media not to compare me with any other hero in future,” concluded Suriya.
