A 26-year-old man has been admitted in a government hospital in Chennai who had returned from Guinea. Hospital authorities said that he is under “screening and observation” for Ebola virus.
The man from Theni district in the state had arrived from Guinea on Saturday night and was taken to the Rajiv Gandhi Government hospital for “screening and observation”.
Without divulging details about the man, the doctor said the man is healthy and such a screening and observation was being done as per the Central government’s directive.
That persons who returning from West African countries which are affected by the Ebola virus outbreak must be screened for the deadly virus upon their arrival.
Dr Raghunandan said there was no reason to panic and all relevant tests will be conducted.
